A friend called to tell me, I switched on the TV, saw it, immediately called my daughter who has just returned to her dorm from a class at NYU. She said, "so that is why all the sirens are going off." Told her not to go near there, to stay away. So, what does she do? Goes down there a little later, steps through a fence, and sees a fireman sitting there crying. There was a vigil in Washington Square that night.
