Wow, RW, that's pretty cool.

I'm in a quandary now. It would be nice to have unlimited data over LTE for the new iPhone, but it's a more expensive proposition for me, as I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the Verizon shared data plan. Having looked at my usage patterns, I can see that I really don't need the unlimited data, either.

Anyway, I just checked, and it looks like they are perfectly happy to give me the unlimited data plan, but of course it doesn't include the Mobile Hotspot feature. That would be an additional 50 bucks, for 5GB of data.

I went part of the way through the ordering process on the AT&T website, just to check, and it didn't just allow me to keep the unlimited data plan, it defaulted to that.

Tempting. I'll probably still go with Verizon, however, because I don't really need unlimited data, the service will be a lot better from home, coverage is better all over LA, and because it will cost me slightly less, overall, to go with a shared 4GB plan for my iPhone and iPad. 4GB a month will be plenty for me.

Plus, Verizon includes the mobile hotspot feature, which may come in handy now and then.

Yes, I think my reasoning is sound for switching. OK. Not in a quandary now.
