That article has three major problems.
1. The economics are all wrong, cdma WLL systems are estimated to be significantly less that 45,000 rp ($11,700) per subscriber, more like $400-$600 per sub and that is decreasing. Check out any WWL discussion to verify. Like the CDG.
2. The statement that IS-95 is not upgradable is a joke. Already the Koreans are talking aobut 384 kbs by the end of next year, and we all know that cdmaOne wideband applications will be backwards compatable.
3. The capacity limits of cdma to 1000 subs per km2 is false.

The statements are obviously biased and self serving, don't worry about it.
