I2, the USA already has an internet infrastructure in place with ATM backbone and ISDN and ADSL tie ins, and cable modems would be another alternative. Asia has no or little infrastructure in place, and cable modems and satellite communications may prove more cost effective and topologically feasbile. If one were responsible for establishing an internet infrastructure from scratch ... it becomes a matter of vision.
