What are the bits you disagree with?

The article could have gone further in my view. It could have pointed out that the government created the computer industry out of whole cloth. They designed the boxes in the 40's and provided all of the development money. They paid for and helped write the first few computer languages. IBMs Watson thouroughly documented in his memoirs how the government dragged IBM into computer manufacture, and how they would have never done it on their own. The DOD paid for and spec'd the original Internet (ARPANet.) and TCP/IP. They funded much of the foundation technology for that as well, e.g. the 1880 punched-card census machines. They created and funded the first focused college programs to train programmers for the new industry in the 50s and 60s. And so on and so on.

People who say the government has no role in business should get real.
