Roger,
While this could be construed as a conflict of interest, it could also be a case of sour grapes on the part of Ancor proponents, including me. <g> The fact is, Brenda C. has done an outstanding job, irrespective of her position on the FC board. If Ancor is to succeed, they will have to do it in the market, not by changing the FC board to their liking. In fact, Brenda Christensen's presence on the Fibre Channel board has undoubtedly increased the visibility of Fibre Channel, and may have indirectly helped Ancor.
The part of the Ancor equation that I am still waiting to see is the recognition that up until now, Brocade has clearly outmaneuvered us. After that, I'd like to see a clear, concise, and proactive strategy to combat it. If or when that happens, Ancor will begin to show the results that we are waiting for.
I'm sure that there are a number of initiatives that are going on behind the scenes at Ancor, but it remains to be seen whether they will translate into success.
