Talk about corporate greed... Apple's connector worked on the IPhone,IPhone 3, IPhone 3G, IPhone 4, IPhone 4S, IPod, IPod Touch, IPad 1,2,3. While Samsung fleeced the PhAndroids over and over again. You bought the Galaxy SII, you get to buy a HDMI adaptor. Upgraded to the Galaxy SIII, guess what, the connector you just bought for you SII will not work on the SIII..
