Glenn,
A couple of comments:
The KKR deal may have ben a pretty good deal for them because I think they invested only $350MM in cash eight years ago, or whenever it was, and turned that into whatever gains they achieved recently. However,it's not that relevant to our discussion here.
As for my fascination with AERN's "ordinary and mundane" batteries, I beg you to show me why you think a battery that can last 3 hours on a single charge is better than a battery that can last 8-10 hours on a single charge. I think that is the crux of our divergence of opinion. Now, I agree with you 100% that if you can give me a battery that lasts 40 hours, weighs one pound and cost $10, it will revolutionize the world. I know this is the type of thing you are working on and I have already offered to be an investor. But this is is little ways away, and for now, AERN seems to be closer to delivering some real products.
As far as the billionaire is concerned, please don't misinterpret my comments. I have said and will repeat that just because the billionaire is invested doesn't mean that everyone should invest. In fact, it should have no bearing on your investment decision. However, it seems unlikely the billionaire will sell three months after buying, unless the landscape has changed.
Last point: Please stop insinuating that an 8-10 hour AERn battery will take 16-20 hours to recharge. Unless you have definitive information that you can share with us, the AERN recharge ratio is 1:1.
That's all for now. Good luck to all.
