Jack, Judy as to cable modems, it is interesting to watch the development of the new ROK chipset there is an article in Business Week (page 46) were INTC and MSFT are backing the ROK chipset.

It is rumored that this chipset speeds up as a T1 line or around 1Mbit/sec and sends at 250Kbits/second over telephone lines.

Also Intel is interested to enther "Top Set Boxes" and network cards much more agressively and integrate some of them into the main computer board, with their own MPU Chipset - so many vendors will be toast!!
