Hi Pogeu Mahone; Re: "I believe they do not have to test GMO to see if it safe for humans."
It's difficult for me to accept that an intelligent person would believe such a statement. GMOs are tightly regulated, far better regulated than normal food. Any organic farmer can introduce a new crop to the market without having to do any tests on it whatsoever. And organic foods are easily the most dangerous we eat.
---------------------------------------------
Changing genes in a food means modifying the DNA. All living organisms have DNA and no human is allergic to DNA (though I don't doubt that there are some humans who believe that they are allergic to DNA, LOL).
Instead of genes per se, the reason foods are incompatible with humans is due to the proteins. They know what proteins are produced by the GMO genes so these proteins are tested with animals at much higher concentrations than they appear in the GMO food.

So AFAIK, the GMO foods are not tested with humans, but instead are tested with animals. You might object to this. However, it's AFAIK, no food is tested for safety with humans. That applies to natural and organic foods just as much as GMOs. And people are killed by natural and organic foods every day. Usually this is due to contamination, but other things happen, for example, somebody once died from eating an excessive quantity of apple seeds. On the other hand, there has been no known incident where a GMO food even made a human sick.
I'm sure you can come up with links from people claiming that GMOs have caused all kinds of trouble. I heard a guy on the radio the other day saying that GMOs caused every problem from impotence to bad hair. It was hilarious. Someone called in who was a different kind of fanatic. She believed that all problems were caused by gluten. When the natural food people can't keep their scare stories straight you should know that there is a problem.
The US has a lot of people whose job is to make our food safe. In claiming that GMOs are dangerous you're basically claiming that these people are incompetent. You really need good evidence for such a claim.
Despite the introduction of GMOs 15 years ago, the US population (which eats more of them than any other country I think) continues to live, on average, longer and longer lives. So whatever we're eating, GMO or not, it clearly is not killing us: cdc.gov
