What people refer to from the one clip widely shown on MotherJones.com was part of a fundraising event. But they had 4-5 separate videos up yesterday. For Romney it not only was in context, he stood by the statement yesterday. The 47% is something like

The unemployed and underemployed
The low-earning, under $20,000
The retired

So he took and takes 23,000,000 (from U-6)
1/6 of the population for something else, and
47,000,000 for something else
And maybe something else

But some people are in 2 of the 3 and maybe some are in 3 of the 3. The segments overlap.

You see older people working because they can't live on Social Security or on the interest they earn. Or they like to work or the business needs them.

This is one of the messages of Romney's view then and yesterday. He thinks people collecting SS are retired. Out of touch.

You actually changed one of Obama's words to "government" making the sentence more like what Romney spoke about in February.
