My roots in Germany come from the late 19th century.

That's good, then no blame would ever stick to you - right?

BTW, that was the time when huge masses of Jewish population migrated out of the Kiew and other now East European areas by train to Klaipeda (Memel) and shipped themselves out to the UK and USA.

No 6 million jews were cremated in Germany. Most of that took place in East European areas well detached from core Germany, by Germans yes (lot of local help , though) but thus keeping the smell away from the core population, so to say.

And, back then, nobody among the Allies knew (claimed to know) anything about any mass killing of Jews, so the firebombing of Dresden was done for other reasons.

As a matter of fact, Churchill's big literature work about WW 2, finished in 1953 and which gave him the Nobel Literature Price, nowhere contains the term 'Holocaust' and almost not at all deals with this crime against humanity.
