What he is articulating is a vision of a smaller government where welfare isn't such a large part of our government expenditures. I agree with him on that. Entitlement and welfare spending in this country is completely out of control.

On the other end of the spectrum are the folks like tejek, Bernanke, and Obama, who believe that Capitalism itself is a failed model and that we should try Communism or at the very least move to European-style Socialism. Neither has worked, and yet, Capitalism has made this country the wealthiest in the history of the world.

So I'm definitely of the variety that believes we should have a smaller, less welfare oriented government. Having said that, if the people want a large welfare oriented government and they vote for that, then I'm ok with that too....as long as we raise taxes to pay for it all. What I'm not ok with is this massive deficit spending and money printing to finance it. That's plain irresponsible and that is what Obama stands for.

So your rightwing friends don't like Romney because he's not a rightwing fanatic and the lefties don't like him, because he doesn't like the size of the Entitlement and welfare spending in this country. Go figure.
