Brian << GTW's fundamentals look pretty damn good to me. Everything I have seen points to a very nice quarter. >> Accounting tricks.You have probably heard of how MSFT can move profits from 1 qrtr to next. Well you can do the same thing to losses. The one thing I do know about is obsolete inventory. You can keep collecting it at full cost till you finally write it down to its market value (or completely obsolete ot to 0) and then call it a 1-time charge. The key is to know when they are going to write it off. GTW did that last quarter (still dont know how long that inventory was collecting). There may be other such items that are inherently inside info unless youa re good at accounting and can extrapolate the info from qrtr to qrtr. ratan
