I want to reiterate the importance of the Yokogawa alliance. Yoko is a 3 billion dollar a year in sales conglomerate known in process control the world over. Their selection of Moore's QUADLOG platform for their safety system (they are slapping a Yoko label on it and selling it as their own) is a real endorsement of the technology. They are competing with Honeywell's safety system which is Pepperl & Fuch's (they bought this division a few years back), and Triconex - an old platform of triple redundancy. Tricon is a leader, but stuck in an old platform they have to maintain upwards compatibility on. The Honeywell platform is very similar to Moore's. Moore's is the newest on the block and I am very impressed by their ability to diagnose failures on their cards to maintain the safety of the system. I think they have developed some technologies in reaching the TUV approval that no one else has. They should be able to carry that into other areas and perhaps strike some alliances with others with it. The Yokogawa Alliance was kept pretty quiet, but it tips the scales in terms of momentum. It should be no where but up. I'm sure Yoko would have bought them if they could have.
