2- Once you move to Microsoft OS (DOS to 95, 95 to NT, UNIX to NT) it is a one-way street. In other words, you can't go back to your previous environment

Why can't you "go back"? Are you saying if you moved to Mac or UNIX from Windows you could go back?

3- Microsoft business practices are illegal according to U.S laws (contract tying is but one)

I guess I'll assume you are a contract lawyer, or else you know of some previous case where MS was convicted of illegal business practices.

4- Microsoft is a monopoly (80-90 % of OSes on PCs are running windows) Hence, the future/fate/wellbeing of those systems hangs on but one company: MS. make your own conclusions how good that is for the customer (alot of exploring could be done here)

Netscape has 80% of the browser market, so it must be a dangerous monopoly. Sun has a vast majority of web servers (75-85%), so it must be a dangerous monopoly. I guess it's wrong to be succesfull.
