What Republican Presidential contest were you looking at? Do you think there was some sort of Extreme Right Inc. putting candidates out there? Here is a list of all the registered candidates for President in 2012 - several of whom I've never heard of - but anyone can run. They ranged from the libertarians Ron Paul and Gary Johnson to the socially conservative Bachmann, Cain, Santorum and Perry to the middle of the roaders Romney and Huntsman. The candidates conservatives most wanted to run, such as Paul Ryan, chose not to. The ones who lasted longest already had name recognition and/or financial support. Since Huntsman had neither he would have been better off waiting and building up a national reputation. His not breaking through the pack was his own responsibility. His complaining about the perceived "faults" of the Republican Party since then isn't going to help him any.

Michele Bachmann
Herman Cain
Newt Gingrich
Jon Huntsman
