Antibiotics are used against bacteria not viruses.... Sorry, TWEST, antibiotics are frequently used "against viruses" -- however inappropriately. The availability of a quick diagnosis should reduce the inappropriate use of antibiotics and thereby reduce the development of antibiotic resistant bacteria. O. H.
