I heard a news item on the radio today concerning the TV manufacturers' request that the FCC extend its mid-1998 and mid-1999 deadlines requiring manufacturers to install "V" chips. The manufacturers - and Zenith was specifically mentioned among others - contended that the target dates are unattainable due to engineering complexities.

Anyway, it was nice to hear Zenith's name mentioned.

Frederick, I share your concern that, all too often, articles in business publications wherein I would logically expect Zenith's name to be mentioned along with others, it is not.

Getting Zenith's name out in front of the financial press will not happen by accident. It takes a concentrated, determined effort and probably some money. Possibly additional staff and a public relations firm have to be hired to get the Zenith story out.

The problem is there are so many angles to be covered for the company to be successful. I believe the company has made significant progress, and there are probably many things cooking that we don't know about. Success breeds success. Greater sales and a profit should allow the company to cover more angles.
