Cirrus Logic Refocuses PC Chip Business yahoo.com SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Cirrus Logic said it is refocusing its unprofitable PC products division to develop a system-on-a-chip" design, which will consolidate three different chips into one. Cirrus said the move will result in a chip design that combines an audio chip, a modem chip and a graphics chip all in one semiconductor. The company's PC products division is the only unprofitable division of the four at Milpitas, Calif.-based Cirrus, a spokesman said. The refocus could lead to eventual job cuts.
