And I am not done with you. You want to talk about capitalism........you don't think people on this thread know what capitalism is. Well I've got news for you. You need to get to know them a little better.
We know what capitalism......I know what capitalism is but I really don't think Rs understand what it is........at least their capitalism is not what I call capitalism. In my book, capitalism needs to be constructive.........it adds value.....grows a business.......benefits the community at large.........provides a service that people need. I bet you want an example.........and I am more than glad to give you one.
Bought a bldg in LA in 1993 right after the riots during one of the worst recessions LA has ever experienced. The 40 unit bldg was a gang hangout.........30% occupancy.........drug dealers drove up onto the lawn and sold drugs to the residents thru the windows. There were gang shootouts periodically on the corner. We found bullets embedded in the hallway walls. Bought the sucker for $300K; put $400K into it initially.......using low interest loans from the city. Yeah, I sucked at the gov't teat. During construction LA had its big quake, slowing construction while administrative costs piled up. It was a scary time. Rent up started in late 1994. It was tough renting up..........LA was still in a bad recession. Plus, the neighborhood was a drag........people were afraid to rent in the neighborhood........they would drive by, see the neighborhood and skip their appointment. People told me to rent to low lifes. So I organized the property owners. Got them to do some improvements. Encouraged the less sophisticated owners to be more careful to whom they rented. Got the city to start cleaning the streets...........unplugged a sewer drain that had been plugged up for over a decade.........and to curb the after hour problems of a nearby nightclub on Hollywood Blvd. By the end of 1995, the bldg was at 100% and it stayed that way until I sold it in 2007. I had good tenants.........all credit screened. Never had to advertise a vacant unit. Rented by word of mouth. Did only 3 evictions in over 10 years. By 1998, a non profit was so impressed with the stability and safety of the neighborhood that they built a well landscaped senior's bldg on a vacant lot in the neighborhood. In 2007, I sold the bldg for $2.5 million. Did I mention it became a cash cow, throwing off lots of good cash from 1995 til I sold it.
What was that. MM........you want to tell me again how I am a socialist...........how I don't know about capitalism. Yeah, right!
Now go talk to RW about the business he has grown, then ask Chinu how he survived the Great Recession as a consultant, then check with koan about how he kept going selling real estate during the recession; then ask Vosilla about his 'socialistic' real estate biz. Yeah, we don't know what capitalism is.
The truth is its not the posters on this thread that don't what capitalism is...........its Rs who are deficient on the subject. It seems Rs are only good for making a quick buck; one that usually ends up screwing some little guy. They honestly think stock investing is an example of capitalism at its finest. What BS!
Republicans = easy peasy.
Any time a project requires some competent planning, forethought and lots of sweat equity Rs throw up their hands and run away. We saw that under Bush............during Katrina, bottled water meant for NOLA ended up in ID; Iraq was a disaster; he could never catch bin Laden; led the country down the primrose path to the Great Recession........the list goes on and on.
Now you all put up this faux candidate........an alleged successful business man. Well lets look at that successful business story. In his late 20s, Rmoney got access to millions.....because he was a wünderkind......not likely. We all know Rmoney was born with a silver spoon. His rich benefactor gave him millions because he knew Mitt's daddy, a rich and honorable man, would bail him out if he got into trouble. So what did he do with all those millions? Bought up companies, broke them down, and either sold them off or threw them into BK, causing thousands to lose their jobs. Did Rmoney care? Of course not. And you think that's a great example of a good presidential candidate? Huh? You really want me to be impressed with his BS? So sorry. I am not.
And what do we hear from his trophy wife about running for office............stop it! Its so hard! I want to tell that witch what's really hard..............what's really hard is having your husband lose his job because some rich fat cat outsourced his company to China. You've got 3 kids, no health insurance and you don't have the money to pay the next month's rent. That's hard, Ann....................not your silly little life.
And if you think I am pissed.........you would be right. When that video of Rmoney talking about the 47% was aired, this election became very personal for me............very, very personal.
Republicans = easy peasy.
Now if you want to go to a thread where people will think you're a genius like Bambi Ryan, I suggest you go over here:
Subject 473
I am sure they will think you are brilliant........with all your recession calls...........a genius among men.
Have a good one! |
