This is in the Cosigo Journal today . cosigo.com

Back in 1980 it surprised me to learn that Puma were in the Jungle . My thinking was that the Jaguar

would keep any big competitor out . Some of the locals near Leticia about 300 miles south of Taraira had caught a teenaged Puma in a trap and had him for sale in a very small cage .

It was the first one for me to see up close and left no doubt in my mind that it could do me in , in a heartbeat . The most ferocious animal i had ever seen . It was intimidating even though it was in a cage .

The Natives in Southern Ontario feared the cat the most as it hunted humans by a jump from above , like a tree limb , and at your back .
