there is a big difference between free markets and too much deregulation. It is deregulation under Clinton and finished by Bush that ended up creating the problems, bringing not only the USA, but the free world to the brink of collapse. The other BIG issue is that wall street lawyers have effectively destroyed the spirit of the law, where bad behaviour now is only judged on the letter of the law. One of the original precepts of free markets in a democracy is that courts and judges could punish bad behavior and obvious intent to do harm even though it skated within the letter of the law. And you want free markets that are also unregulated so pirates in pin striped suits can continue to rape and pillage citizens, corporations and communities?
