Iomega Declares National "Disaster Proof Your Business"
Week;
Tape Backup Leader Launches National Program To Protect
Small
Business Computers

ROY, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 1, 1997--With the severe storm season
beginning in the U.S., Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM) declares December 1-5
National Disaster Proof Your Business Week.

Iomega's Ditto(TM) business group, which develops and markets the best-selling
Ditto family of tape backup solutions, will take its message on the road with a
five-city tour of the country's severe storm cities: Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn.;
Detroit, Mich.; Chicago, Ill.; Boston, Mass; and New York, N.Y. The Ditto business
group will focus on teaching small businesses and home-based businesses how to
protect their vital computer investment.

During the severe storm season, most computer damage occurs when ice or wind
disrupts electric lines causing power outages of a few minutes to several days. When
power is restored, electrical transients can cause an uneven flow of electricity
through the outlet, ultimately causing possible damage to microprocessors as well as
hard drives. Computer users may not be prepared for the resulting temporary or total
hardware failure.

If disaster should strike, customers using a Ditto or Ditto Max(TM) tape drive to
backup their PC at work or at home can simply restore the entire contents of their
PC (operating system, application and files) in as little as one easy step with Ditto
1-Step(TM) backup software.

To prepare users for the dramatic rise in PC hard drive size, Iomega's new Ditto
Max tape backup family of multiple capacity tape backup drives and cartridges can
backup, store and protect as much as 10/a gigabytes (GB) of compressed
information.

"Insuring your business from disaster begins with protecting critical information,"
said Craig Rathbun, product manager, Ditto business marketing.

"A Ditto tape backup solution is a key element to disaster proofing a business. Small
business owners can rest assured that they are protected against minor or major
catastrophes that can occur due to severe weather by performing regular backups
using the simple, low-cost and reliable tape medium."

As part of Iomega's Disaster Proof Your Business Week, the company is issuing five
important tips to help companies to safeguard their computer investment.

-- Save your entire system -- operating systems, files and applications on a tape
cartridge.

-- Safeguard a second set of backup cartridges off-site in a protected area.

-- Guard against infected software programs or possible virus downloads off the
Internet by installing a virus protection program on your computer hard drive.

-- Install a power surge device to protect your computers and other electronic
equipment from damaging lightning that can come directly through your outlets.

-- Keep a fire extinguisher in the office.

A recognized leader in the tape backup market, Iomega makes a complete line of
award-winning tape backup solutions ranging in compressed capacity from 2GB/a
to 10GB/a. Iomega's 10GB/a solution, the Ditto Max Professional drive, is expected
to ship in early 1998. These solutions allow consumers to easily and quickly backup
the contents of their hard drive and their important files.

The Ditto family has attained the number one retail marketshare position in the U.S.
Also, it has received numerous media accolades, including Mobile Computing and
Communications' "Best Product of the Year/Peripherals," January 1997 (Ditto
2GB/a), PC World's Best Buy award, February 1997 (Ditto 2GB/a, Ditto Easy
3200/a), HomePC's "Best Buy" award, November 1996 (Ditto 2GB/a) and
FamilyPC's "Recommended" award, November 1996 (Ditto 2GB/a).
