Been using MetaStock for 4 years now. Lots of good things about it - lots of charting capabilities, custom formulas, the Explorer finds stocks w/your criteria automatically, the System Tester back tests trading systems and optimizes them. Include several Experts which are canned trading systems - some with Multimedia presentations included. Couple of problem areas also: the Downloader works but is clunky to use. Data file management is also clunky. They also charged a fair amount of money for the upgrade from 6.0 to 6.5 - without (IMHO) a corresponding upgrade in real functionality. Bottom Line: I haven't found anything better for my style of investing and expect MS to continue to improve over time. FWIW, I use Reuters Trend DataLink as my data provider. A little pricey, but they handle stock splits and data correction very well. Chip
