RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Sapiens International Corporation (NASDAQ:SPNSF) today announced the signing of a non-exclusive worldwide agreement with EDS for use of the Sapiens Falcon2000 assessment and
remediation workbench. EDS, through its CIO Services unit, will use
Falcon2000 to assist its client base with Assembler year 2000 compliance
issues.
"The agreement between CIO Services and Sapiens delivers another Year 2000
solution to clients and world-class integrators," said Monica Wooden, Sapiens'
senior vice-president. "A global information services leader like EDS can
provide an enormous reach and depth in assisting clients tackle such a
difficult language as Assembler."
"By adding Sapiens Falcon 2000 to their Y2K arsenal, EDS is addressing
assembler issues with a robust automated solution," said Carl Greiner, vice
president, Meta Group.
Software Productivity Group estimates that there are 1.5 million programs
currently in use in the United States alone that could require conversion for
year 2000 compliance.
Assembler code is much more difficult to fix than 3rd generation languages
such as COBOL, because the logic is often obscure and date values are hard to
find. Falcon2000 analyzes the flow of instruction in Assembler programs,
determines where changes should be made, and makes those changes. It utilizes
an interactive engine in a Windows NT-based GUI environment. This engine
efficiently and accurately applies a uniquely rigorous solution that
significantly reduces the time and cost of a year 2000 project.
