Not really, since the Maps app comes with the phone.
I think he is probably talking about MapQuest, Waze, etc. that folks might be prompted to download if they weren't happy with the Apple Map.

The thing is, I would be interested in knowing who actually used Google Maps on the iPhone when there were better alternatives already to choose from.
