iOS6 is a great improvement, and I've had zero problems with their map app. Plus, you can download Google Maps in a couple of seconds if you want it, I don't get the major faux paus hysteria. I agree with your assessment. Living in the Atlanta area, I have had no problems with Apple maps although I have had to admit I don't use them a lot. With an iPhone 4, I probably don't use them because you don't get turn by turn direction. I do think that some people in different areas, especially outside of the US, have had some issues but reading through some different assessments, and as Doren's post also shows, Google has had its problems for years as well. For some things, Apple seems to be held to a different standard.
