[WSTL rebid]

<<"Amati met with Westell on Nov. 5 to see if, in light of TI's proposal, it prepared to raise its offer. On Nov. 7, Amati initiated merger discussions with TI. After conducting due diligence, Westell raised its offer to $20 per share on Nov. 12.">>

a $20/share bid from WSTL on Nov. 12th would have meant 1.25 shares of WSTL (then trading around 16) for each share of AMTX, tax-free.

too bad AMTX management wasn't deft enough to use the WSTL rebid as leverage to get TXN to go from a cash offer to a stock offer...
