Here's what I see--I sent this email this morning--I was very moved by the debate:
Good Morning Mr. Obama,
I am a Canadian citizen, a single mother who is pursuing a geochemistry degree at the University of Toronto. I saw the presidential debate last night for the first time in my life, although I have often seen the Canadian equivalent.
I can't tell you how much I admire and respect the way you conducted yourself. You were, to me, the epitome of a hard working, dedicated gentleman. I so rarely see this in politics, where people have the opportunity to slander their opponent and choose not to.
I sincerely hope that the American people can see/recognize this and see your dedication and continue to support you. I also really hope that other politicians, and people in general, will take notice of the way you conducted yourself and change the way they behave.
In a world where it is so easy to be cruel and take any advantage offered to you, congratulations for doing, what I consider, an admirable thing.
Best of luck to you and your family! |
