I too am a bit surprised and concerned about apple's recent decline.. Today was the anniversary of Apple's founder Steve Jobs. You may think that the selling was not only the playing of taps for Mr Jobs but was also for the death of the company. It does however represent almost 5% of the s+p so the drop in the stock price may be due to some institutional selling. There are many who have been knocking at the sound quality and ingenuity of apple's products and future earnings and competition from others. I think that there will be a lot of surprises and strengths that apple will reveal in the future for many years to come. It really irks me the arrogance and extent to which competitors will lie, cheat and steal in an attempt to crumple apple. Others should address their thoughts as well.. Best wishes to all long term investors. I first purchased this company in November of 2004 at $31.50 per share and have stayed with it through all the peaks and valleys for almost 8 years . I am not going to say farewell for quite some time in the future but will enjoy now investing the dividends that apple gives. Take care
