After paying into SS since 1964 in the next couple of months I'm going to start getting the money back. 1964. The year Johnson got elected. The Beatles didn't exist. Rotary dials on phones. No microwaves, computers, Internet and space travel was science fiction. We thought we had the Very, Very best government in the world. We were all very proud of the United States, and happy to pay into Social Security. It was an honor, a right of passage, a demonstration of citizenship. What happened to put us at each others throats?
