Caprius Adds Two Executives To Its Senior Management Team
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 1, 1997--Caprius, Inc. (Nasdaq: CAPR - news) today announced the appointment of two new members to its senior management team.
Catherine Coleman, formerly vice president, of breast center development with Salick Health Care, Inc., was appointed vice president, clinical breast programs and market development; and Rich Mastronardi was named vice president of operations and general manager.
Coleman's new responsibilities include developing the Company's breast imaging programs, researching and identifying new sites, joint venture partners and associations throughout the U.S. for Caprius' Aurora(TM), the only FDA-cleared, dedicated breast imaging system using MRI technology.
Coleman was at Salick for seven years, one of the country's premier health care providers. Her responsibilities at Salick included director and then vice president of breast center development. Coleman is a respected leader in the breast health care field. She has conducted over 600 local and national seminars for the public, business and industry on breast health care. She is a California Registered Nurse with 25 years nursing and administrative experience in oncology and breast disease patient care. She received a diploma in Registered Nursing from the Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing.
Mastronardi brings more than 30 years of experience in the marketing and management of numerous high technologies for both commercial and government markets. Prior to Caprius, he was with Thermo Power Corp., for ten years, where he was the director of research and development and the vice president of the Tecogen Division. Mastronardi is a registered professional engineer listed in Who's Who in America, 1996, with an MBA from Northeastern University and a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
On the clinical front, the Aurora(TM) has been selected for installation at the following sites: the Faulkner Sagoff Centre for Breast Health Care in Boston, Massachusetts; the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas; the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences; Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood, New Jersey; and Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
