2 words sum up all the risk for Apple going forward - price decay.

  • Nice detailed summary and argument.
  • However, you don't think the smartest and most talented management team on the planet has thought about all this?
  • Why all this rush in factories that have 2 million employees and they have to work night and day with no holidays?
  • You are not refreshing your phone because you bought yours last year. I have three co-workers that still have the iPhone 3s and those phones are extremely slow. They have been waiting for iPhone 5 for months.
  • My mother-in-law who has no idea what a smart phone is bought a 4S the other day. She will not be using any apps and she will not be doing any browsing, however, she bought it because her kids showed her how to take nice pictures and how easy it is to use the phone in general. She has since last week bought two covers and sleeve to protect it. :) Four of the kids in the same family now have iPads (ages 4-7).
  • If Apple was stressing about making their iPhone sales volumes, they could sign up China Mobile today at some negotiated price that is lower than they have been anticipating.
  • The good news about Apple's sales team is that they don't have to sell. I think they spend most of their time forecasting and they have a pretty good idea of their future forecasts.
  • I have yet to hear from Tim Cook that the smart phone market in general is slowing down.

Cheers
