Well, we would if we did not destroy ourselves, but I see little evidence of that happening. Global Warming, I am sure, is already past the tipping point. Ocean acidification seems to also be. Baby oysters off Oregon are dying because of it now! 30% increase in acidity in 200 years.

And we continue to stumble toward nuclear war. If we elect Romney the odds are high he will stumble us into nuclear war with Russia or China. If not he, someone will.

It is a statistical certainty. We humans remain way too stupid. it is taking us too long to convert from myth to logic.

I am reading the book "Infidel" by Ali right now and it has staggered me. Even old left wing radical me.

And it doesn't matter the myth! A myth is a myth is a myth. Tribes, clans, races, cultures. Fine, but above all, we must be one people on spaceship earth using science and logic as our foundation for survival..

<<Speaking of medicare... does anyone around here believe in scientific progress affecting human lifespans?

Cambridge University geneticist Aubrey de Grey has famously stated, “The first person to live to be 1,000 years old is certainly alive today …whether they realize it or not, barring accidents and suicide, most people now 40 years or younger can expect to live for centuries.”
