The premise of that argument in the video is that Romney can't get the revenue without going after those with incomes below 200,000 too. To which I say, duh! The idea that we can't - or shouldn't - remove deductions from people making 200K a year is fantasy land economics. Should we give families that have 10 kids massive deductions when more responsible families get far fewer? Should we give the speculator a huge mortgage deduction on his McMansion that might be worth millions when the speculator is able to hide most of his income in tax loopholes? And what is this insane need to exempt charities? Should a Mormon be able to exempt from taxes his income when the church then uses those charity deductions in questionable ways? Should small business owners get tax deductions for taking lavish cruises, just so they can talk business a couple of hours on the cruise? The list are endless. ..........
