And Gallup also says that September Unadjusted Unemployment was at 7.9% and Adjusted Unemployment was at 8.1%. All of those numbers, yours included, have a margin of error of 1%. The bottom line is that the 7.8% number that the BLS came up with is nothing to get excited about. It wasn't a reflection of a great rebound in the economy and jobs. It was a statistical blip. I think we've seen enough analysis to conclude that it was not the beginning of a great new trend representing a new recovery underway. In fact, quite the opposite. The real economy is foundering, not just in this country but in Europe and China as well. gallup.com
