He has picked off enough niche constituencies that he can say and do anything, no matter how irresponsible, and get very close to what it takes. Romney described this phenomenon in his "47%" remark. I didn't promise a landslide, but I thought that's how it would end. I simply overestimated the intellect of American voters, I suppose. Still, if Ryan kills tonight and Romney, next time, performs as well as he did last time, I think a landslide isn't out of the question. Hell, even Nate Silver -- the messiah of liberal polling -- has backed off his previous predictions.
