James, I've noted in passing the position of the ASCA, whoever they are, in post 14436 here. Checking out your post, I get to asca.net, where I see such dispassionate news headlines as:

NEWS! ACSA Slams DoJ, AG JANET RENO's Microsoft Bashing: "Mr. Smith, er GATES, Goes to Washington"! More Info...

NEWS! ACSA ALLEGES ATTORNEY GENERAL RENO "Fiddles with Microsoft, while Rome Burns!" (Serves Special AT&T interests) 2.5 MILLION MEMBERS CALL FOR AG's IMPEACHMENT! More Info...

NEWS! ACSA says "The PUBLIC is being manipulated!", alleges Pres. Clinton & AG Janet Reno "Have IBM & AT&T in their pockets", SEEKS TWIN IMPEACHMENTS! More Info...

Twin impeachments? Because of the Consent Decree action? Spare me. 2.5 million members? Plus, the juxtaposition of AT&T and IBM vs. Microsoft seems... odd, since both AT&T and IBM were subject of extensive antitrust investigations. From elsewhere on the site:

ACSA became a non-profit, charitable research and education organization under IRC 501(c)3 during 1993.

Prior thereto, its membership consisted of three organizations:

the American Computing Association (formed in 1970), the American Certified Computer Consultants Associations (formed in 1980); and the American Certified Computer Scientists Association (formed in 1990).

As a result of becoming a non-profit charitable association, ACSA ceased charging fees for membership in 1994, and made the 58,000 plus computer science and 1800 plus technology company membership life members. Since that
time, ACSA has operated without any substantial professional
fund raising and has managed to organize research, educational programs, academic programs, public awareness and pro-bono activities without receiving a single dollar of grant or donor moneys.

Oh, and from acsa.net

Mathematics

ITSONICS - The Level of Infinity - Lere O. Shakunle. All about Organic System Design and the mechanics of Itsonics. A crossbred theological ontology, bred between mathematical/logical existence and the engineering paradigm of reality mathematics, by the director of the Transfigural Mathematics Laboratory, Dr. Lere O. Shakunle.

The ITSON - Beyond Field and Particle [1] - Lere O. Shakunle. Visionary writings about the organic system design - from the post machine age engineering paradigm of reality mathematics.

Hmmm. 2.5 million members? Up from 68k when the organization was formed 3 years ago? No grant or donor money? Where does the money come from? Plus, "A crossbred theological ontology, bred between mathematical/logical existence and the engineering paradigm of reality mathematics"? Something smells fishy here, and the recent news seems to be a bit, um, Microcentric. I'll have to research this a little further.

Cheers, Dan.
