Speaking of education: my former partner is a Harvard educated patent lawyer(with asperger's). He lived in the Adam's house dorm--- the most liberal, experimental with ideas(and drugs) dorm in the institution...... Nevertheless, he grew to become a faux news R----it was not an insignificant factor in it not working for us.... That said: I'm very close to his young boys and during my call with them last night, asked the 4th grader if his teachers are talking about the election...."Oh yes, Zeta. My homework is to learn about both candidates." Then, "Zeta, who are you going to vote for?" Me: "Barack Obama!!!!!!" He was so distressed----almost in tears---"but no Zeta, you can't. He's taking money from other people and giving it to Obamacare." Ex bf in the background, knowing full well my aghast and angry response(internally) that this boy is being fed these lies...."Zeta, I don't know where he's getting this information from." Yeah right!! : I did go on to tell his son that perhaps the person who told him the above was not intentionally trying to lie to him but was probably lied to by the news station he or she watched. I recommended he go to youtube and google and search any position he's heard about to "fact check it" because some news stations are biased..... I got off the phone feeling so depressed: Both his parents are lawyers from liberal universities---you can't chalk it up to lack of education or exposure. Growing up in the DC area, the boys are surrounded by different view points. Yet, it's their parents opinions that these kids are imprinting into their psyche......... Edited to remove my real name which just bounced onto the page!
