Well Bulba - given all you do for us, I would be a heel if I did not at least try to support my intuitive reaction to the relative betas.

Here is a link to NBI data which shows that the beta relative to the S&P 500 is 0.48:

The beta is a bit of a surprise to me. I would have guessed that the NBI would be more volatile than the S&P 500 and not less.

Now all I have to do is figure out some way to quantify the beta of groupings of stocks we used in the contest.
