JFK pulled the plug on the failed Bay of Pigs invasion to overthrown Castro and instead seeked diplomacy with Russia and Cuba in the last year of his life angering the right wing Cuban exile community as well as the MIC and right wing in this country hell bent on a big spending military overreach and wars just like today.
