I think I can pick up some cheap stocks/bargains going into year-end, and so am raising cash as the opportunity presents itself to lighten up.
I think it's often not what you buy, or actual tactics, that determines how well you'll do, but how you position yourself strategically, where if the market does materially weaken for whatever reason - the European crisis, disappointing earnings, tax related selling, the fiscal cliff, etc you are there to take advantage of it, and to do so in some size (relative to your means).
I guess I differ from Paul in this, but then, that's what makes a market.
