Linda, as perverse as this may sound, the JP Morgan announcement is actually good news for a couple of reasons: 1) it clears up uncertainties about the 3rd quarter; 2) these are acutally very good numbers! Sales would be UP 200% ! EPS would be UP 350% ! The net margin was only 2.4% last year but IF JP Morgan's numbers hold up the net margin would be 3.5%. This is a very good sign for the long term stability of the company and would show that the economies of scale are kicking in and Iomega could reduce prices, IF NECESSARY to ward off the competition without hurting margins too badly. . . When the JPM announcement was made this morning around 10:30 AM the stock was up 9/16 at 15. It promptly fell off to 13 5/8. This was not "smart money" moving out of Iomega, this was "monkey see, monkey do money" getting out. The smart money got out 2 1/2 months ago when the rebate was announced and it was known then that the EPS for the 3rd quarter would suffer and now that we "know" that sales will probably be up 200% and the Earnings per Share may be up 350% what do you think will happen to the stock price? Regards Stan.
