It might well be best to consider taking much more than the minimum distributions and paying the tax. That gets more capital farther away from the IRS. At some point the government may force reinvestment in Treasury bonds. I would not say that if I had not once had something called a 403b account that was retroactively forced to accept all the terms of the IRAs, which had not been part of the original contract.
