Ted, those are eye-popping OH numbers coming from a D leaning outfit...Something else is at work here....IMO.

What could it be?

First, PPP is a robo caller so it can't call cell phones and tries to compensate. That compensation is not necessarily scientific. Consequently PPP has been fairly erratic this election cycle. After the first debate, PPP had Obama up 5 in OH.

Secondly, I think a lot of Obama support in OH was soft. Remember..........OH went for Bush both in 2004 and 2000. Once Romney began to look more respectable that support peeled away.

Thirdly, I think American voters will tell pollsters what they think is the right thing to say early on but as they get closer to the election they get more honest. Plus southern OH is fairly conservative and can be racist. I had a frat. brother from S.OH who hated all minorities vehemently. It was the first time I had confronted such strong and open racism. He would not let anyone of color into the frat.........all it took is one blackball and his was the one that did it every time. He was the primary reason I deactivated. From what I understand, there are pockets of people like that in S OH..........around Cincy.
