There is a bill on our ballot that seeks to legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana. It has provisions for reducing the penalty for auto accidents where the agent in dui is marijuana to the same level as alcohol dui.

It is said that our very poor county spent over a million dollars on petty marijuana offenses last year, mainly for providing for legal defense of violators.

I've always been a hawk in regards to the drug trade because the people who engage in it are criminals. My main objection is that it's against the law and if you break the law you pay the penalty.

This bill would save a lot of money and free up police to deal with really important crimes. I think I'm voting for it.

I'm still a hawk on the hard drugs.
