ANDY: I am in the trenches with the users of Rezulin
and firmly believe that the current new is an over-reaction. The recommendation for blood tests 10x
year will undoubtedly be lowered as time goes by just
as the recommendations for liver function testing in
patients on the "statin" drugs was changed from every
4 weeks x 3 to once after 12 weeks of therapy. We are
monitoring these values anyway because of the combination
of drugs being used in diabetics with known coronary
disease and hyperlipidemia. Good damage control calls
for super-cautionary measures at first but I am fairly
positive that with time the monitoring will be lessend.
None of the cholesterol lowering HMG-coa RI have been
hurt in the long run and their volume of business is in
the billions. Might be a good opportunity to buy on
extreme short term weakness. Any thoughts on LGNDW in
anticipation of the presentation tomorrow?
