I think a stock market fall between now and the election will not have that much of an effect. More important are the fall in oil prices that is already resulting in a fall in gasoline prices, and the revival in housing. Both boost confidence and a sense of well being for the average voter. These are happening just in time to help Obama.

On the other hand the debates have established Romney as a credible candidate and reduced his negatives. The key will be turnout. If the mass of registered voters that greatly benefit from Obama policies but usually do not vote, do not turn up in reasonable numbers, Obama may lose.
