Most of those problems would have been avoided had the government and particular not settled on the nutty idea that the way for everyone to own their own home was to encourage loans that could not be repaid and then insure those loans by GSE which were believed to be and turned out to be backed by the FF&C of the US. A better example of unintended consequences cannot be imagined.

I agree with you that the government has been lax in prosecuting the fraud arising out of this matter. But that does not prove corporations are evil, it proves government is evil.
